The Academy of Surgical Innovation (ASI) is the embodiment of a life-long pursuit of knowledge, scientific achievement and technological development. Founded by and within the International Institute of Metabolic Medicine, in close collaboration with the University of California San Diego, the Autonomous University of Baja California and with Industry support, the Academy is the premier center for education and skills development and acquisition in the region.
The Academy serves the needs of a growing population of healthcare professionals in the region with global awareness and an ambition for knowledge and excellence. Equipped with state of the art audiovisual equipment, large conference rooms, human patient simulators, a wide variety of skills labs and expert faculty, the Academy is the go to place for building a solid foundation on everything from minimally invasive surgery, robotics, metabolic nutrition, the business of medicine, anesthesiology, bariatric surgery and much more.
Students, residents and fellows attending the Academy’s lectures will have access to the largest tele-education network for surgery in the world, as the project is supported by the University of Oxford’s International Bariatric Club, offering access to >100 renowned professors delivering lectures on the most advanced and controversial topics in metabolic, bariatric and minimally invasive surgery
